We’re heading north of Sydney to the idyllic town of Nelson Bay to explore The Beach Abode. This luxury family accommodation is a quintessential coastal style home, complete with the most serene interiors. After undertaking an impressive renovation from luxury builders, Greenbuild Constructions, the holiday home opened to guests in December 2023, just in time for summer. And with this renovation, no detail was overlooked to ensure that every experience is one of complete bliss. When you arrive at The Beach Abode, you might first notice its incredible location across the road from Bagnalls Beach, or perhaps you’ll be captivated by the stunning façade. The striking white exterior, batten arches, and curved stone wall are just a small introduction to the incredible interior details that follow once you step foot inside.

The home boasts five bedrooms, an indoor fireplace, a cocktail area, and plenty of entertaining spaces. Even down to the luxury bedlinen and coffee pod machine, the accommodation has everything for the ultimate getaway. But looking past the necessities (like coffee and an outdoor shower, of course), you’re immediately drawn to the serene interiors that evoke feelings of calmness.

The Beach Abode is infused with a palette of soft whites, timber details, and understated coastal tones, such as blue and green. Each aspect within this palette works to complement the natural light that streams through the sheers on the large alfresco doors and six grand sunlights.

Natural materials take centre stage in this home with our attention particularly drawn to the Cove Vanity in the king bedroom ensuite, timber battens in the kitchen, ensuite pendant lights, and soft linens throughout. These features may be subtle to some, but they’re one of the key elements that work alongside the palette and natural light to achieve the perfect coastal home. Even the artwork highlights the gorgeous tones and settings of a coastal getaway.

To complement the stunning interiors, the layout and design of The Beach Abode must be mentioned. Spread over three levels, the ground floor features a kids' retreat, equipped with everything you would need to keep the entire family entertained (we really mean everything, ball pit and climbing arch included). Moving up to the first floor, you’re greeted by an entertainer's dream with a large, open plan layout, complete with a full sized kitchen, featuring joinery from Bliss Kitchens & Joinery, an alfresco, and a sun lounge. The second floor is a little more private, hosting the two king suites, ensuites, and a nursery.

The Beach Abode has completely mastered exactly what the coastal interior design style is all about. This trend gained popularity to evoke the same atmosphere at home that was felt when you spent time in places like this luxury accommodation. From the flowing open plan design to the curves, palette, natural materials, and relaxed décor, The Beach Abode truly is one for both the holiday and interior design vision boards.
