Canning Street Cottage
We first visited Canning Street Cottage with Heartly in mid-January this year. Since then, it’s been a stand-out home tour thanks to its striking blend of classic heritage and contemporary style. Purchased as the design studio’s own project, the 1870s cottage received a stunning renovation. It’s now a functional family home with plenty of character, including within the bathrooms.
Featuring a soaring skylight, a fluted shower screen, brushed brass tapware, and an abundance of texture, it’s easy to see why the Canning Street Cottage was a favourite. The bathroom is minimal, with a clean aesthetic that feels sophisticated yet soothing. It's a contemporary dream space that remains grounded through organic touches like the stone benchtop and sleek timber-look vanity. How could you not love this bathroom space?

The Beach Abode
Heading north to a slightly warmer climate sits The Beach Abode, a luxury family accommodation that is quintessentially coastal-style. The entire house is ingrained with the most tranquil interiors that focus on a natural palette. Think soft neutrals, timber, linens, and stone. The home is nothing short of breathtaking, with each space as dedicated to rest and relaxation as the next, including the bathrooms.
The neutral palette provides the most stunning backdrop to rich metals, soft curves, and textured details, such as the herringbone tiled floors. But the stand-out feature would have to be the round, freestanding bathtub that surely is the highlight of any holiday.

Ashton House
Ashton House is the epitome of luxury in the suburbs. Brought to you by AM Interior Studio, this home was crafted to be a unique space, rich in texture and interest. With influences taken from Meditteranean-style houses, Ashton House was built on another level with contemporary touches that make it simply striking. We originally fell in love with the kitchen, but when featuring the home on Style Edit, we fell head over heels for every part, including the bathrooms.
Interest can be found in abundance in the bathrooms at Ashton House, with a variety of materials, tones, and shapes to explore. The main bathroom is soft and subdued, with an incredible blend of contemporary and organic elements. The shapes are irregular, the palette relaxed, and the layout functional, making it one of the most visually intriguing spaces we’ve featured this year, and you, as our community, have obviously agreed.

Kiama Kin
If you’ve ever wanted to create a bathroom that closely resembles a spa, Kiama Kin should be on your vision board. Designed by Hemma Interiors, this knockdown-rebuild project has redefined coastal-style homes. It’s filled with warmth, subtle colours, and natural materials. Combined with a bright, airy design, Kiama Kin is the refreshing family home of our dreams.
The bathrooms are nothing short of breathtaking with their captivating details including crazy pave flooring, an archway leading to the shower, and Venetian plaster. They are so serene, appearing as if you’ve stepped foot into a luxury day spa on a tropical island retreat. We love any chance to talk about the selections and design of this bathroom, so, we’re so glad you loved it as much as we do.

Hazel House
From the moment we laid eyes on Hazel House, we knew it was something special, and we’re not just talking about the fact that it’s a historic home-turned-dream cottage. Hazel House is a charming country-style accommodation located in the quaint town of Berry, NSW. The wholesome space feels straight out of a novel with its calming mint green palette and classic touches.
The bathrooms at Hazel House are just one of the gorgeous elements of the cottage with their brass details, mosaic tiling, marble accents, and light palette. If the rest of the home didn’t transport you back in time, the bathrooms sure will. We love how not a single aspect has been missed in creating this classic space that feels timeless and full of life.
