Step inside Layà Villas, a collection of residences featuring the most divine interior design details by Comma Projects. The concept behind these architecturally designed duplexes was to create serene residences, set apart from the typical suburban scene. Each villa, known as Villa A and Villa B, is unique in its own right, illustrating two opposing interior design styles, both with a story to tell.

We invite you to first explore Villa A with us. As the more minimalist of the two, Villa A is a contemporary duplex with soft Mediterranean influences and a light, yet grounding atmosphere to match. We can't wait to take you through the details and share the story behind Layà Villas.

One of the things that first captivated us about Layà Villas, apart from the swoon-worthy interiors or striking architecture, was the story behind its name. The word “Layà”, means ‘Freedom’ in Filipino, which has been aptly assigned considering its location on Morotai Street. The street was named as a homage to the Indonesian island's historical significance in the Liberation of the Philippines during WWII. Our admiration of Layà Villas has only been enhanced knowing the beautiful nod to history and rich culture it holds.

As soon as you step into Villa A, you find yourself immersed in a haven of tactility and hues. The goal was to craft an ambiance reminiscent of a day spa, which Comma Projects has undoubtedly achieved. The villa exudes luxury with its palette of neutral shades and rich abundance of tactile finishes, creating a perfect blend that adds interest to every corner of the home.

The thoughtful combination of these elements creates a home that's not only aesthetic but also genuinely captivating. It strikes a perfect balance between tones and textures, achieving a luxurious yet approachable ambiance. This method demonstrates that a space can be both minimal and rich in character, offering a welcoming atmosphere that doesn't compromise on sophistication.

Taking a closer look at the details of Villa A, it's evident that each element works cohesively to achieve that grounding ambiance. The muted neutral palette is accentuated by the filtered light that streams through the floor-to-ceiling sheers. Soft, organic curves replicate shapes found within nature. The Turkish marble featured in the kitchen mimics the natural ebb and flow of the nearby coastline. Every single detail is strategic and harmonious, resulting in the serene look and feel of Villa A.

We often find it hard to pick a favourite feature within the homes we tour, and Villa A is no exception. We adore everything about this duplex, from the origin of its name to the subtle palette, refined finishes, and overall understated elegant atmosphere. But we do have to highlight the incredible freestanding bath situated in front of a wall of handmade tiles, illuminated by the natural light that moves through the skylight above. It’s striking, yet soothing, and only further enhances the objective of creating a tranquil residence.

As illustrated in Layà Villas, Comma Projects focuses on creating residential spaces that are functional, aesthetic, and well-designed. Comma Projects director, Jenn Sinclair, utilises her background in architecture and business management to craft intricate projects that are true masterpieces.
