Welcome to The Shore at Gerringong, a barefoot luxury holiday property where all one’s troubles would simply float away. Located in Gerringong, NSW on the South Coast shores of Werri Beach, this boutique holiday accommodation provides coastal and relaxed luxury in a soft minimal Mediterranean style. From the vaulted ceiling with ever-flowing sheers, warm minimal décor and furniture and the picturesque pool that transports you to a relaxing oasis, we are simply here for it all. In the midst of the current winter season, we are certainly dreaming of a beach getaway like this one.

Before we start a tour of this swoon-worthy accommodation, let’s give you a bit of an introduction to the home. The Shore was renovated by owners Aimee (Curated and Made Interiors) and husband Blair (as well as their two kids Lily and Finn!) over six months in 2019. As renovating often can be, it was quite the process and involved travelling from Sydney to be on site (lots of 4am starts for them!). This hard work resulted in a five-bedroom home with stunning ocean views and the perfect spot for family and friends to share their holiday, put their feet up and enjoy relaxed luxury. As explained by owner Aimee, When people step inside the property, I want them to feel instantly relaxed, and comfortable enough to kick off their shoes and flop on the sofa - barefoot luxury.” So… join us as we take you on a tour of The Shore and see the outcome of this gorgeous renovation (PS we don’t blame you if you are jumping onto the website right now to book a stay).

Let’s begin in the area of the home that has captured our attention (and heart) the most; meet the open plan living, kitchen and dining that offers ocean and mountain views. Fit with a vaulted ceiling with windows that span the length of the home, natural light floods in and fills it with warmth. Each piece of furniture and décor has been chosen with an understated luxury in mind. It is an area you can imagine yourself putting together a cheese board, pouring a glass of wine and putting your feet up as you unwind. As explained by Aimee, “early on I knew the overarching style was 'soft minimalism’. I wanted to create a really understated home that would allow the beautiful fixtures and finishes to take centre stage without feeling cold or bare.” With this in mind, particularly in the open-plan area, an abundance of natural materials was used such as linens, leather, wood, and natural stone to elevate the interiors to a more luxurious level, whilst still maintaining a relaxed feel.

“When people step inside the property, I want them to feel instantly relaxed, and comfortable enough to kick off their shoes and flop on the sofa - barefoot luxury.”

Moving into the bedrooms (which there are 5 of, to be exact), we are greeted with feelings of ultimate zen. Complete with layers of rattan, timber and linen, the bedrooms sure do provide a stylish home away from home. As Aimee describes, “I always try to steer our holidays toward somewhere that has really considered interiors - so I wanted to offer that same kind of experience to others for their getaways”. In the case of the bedrooms, they undoubtedly offer a considered interior feel, with each object and piece of furniture having its rightful place, encouraging a soft and minimal ambiance.

Flowing from the bedrooms are the bathrooms of The Shore. These too are created in a luxurious and special way like the rest of the home, and they are even fitted with underfloor heating for those winter escapes (no more cold feet!). The minimal style is harmonious with the timber vanities and beautiful simplistic lighting and hardware. Complete with travertine tiles, each bathroom is as lovely as each other to get ready in.

To top off an already relaxing accommodation, The Shore features a pool that provides a lush outside oasis. If the beach right outside the back gate doesn't take your fancy, then the heated pool escape is perfect for those summertime moments, complete with a margarita. The luxe light stone tiles and use of white and greenery complements the hints of a Mediterranean style inside and ties it all together. The Shore is undeniably a top pick for luxury holiday accommodation and the owners have created a place that would be incredibly hard to leave.
