Nothing makes a house a home quite like perfect interiors. The right pieces can elevate a space, making it feel inviting, which is exactly what has been achieved at Hall Residence. Crafted by Kahli Lynam, founder of Kahli Jayne Designs, this contemporary new build, from Nuvo Homes, has been transformed into a gorgeous home featuring Scandinavian simplicity and hints of Australian coastal influences. Starting as a mood board project on Style Sourcebook, Hall Residence is a tranquil illustration of the importance of warmth and character within a home.
So, come with us as we explore the details of this home and discover its journey from mood board to real life.
As a new build project, Hall Residence was a blank space for Kahli Jayne Designs to bring the client’s brief to life. The clients wanted an understated colour palette, with interiors that would be not only aesthetic but also practical to support their growing family.
With this brief in mind, Kahli began the Hall Residence process on Style Sourcebook by placing different concepts and options onto a mood board to demonstrate her vision to the clients. From there, Kahli began curating each space within the home to ensure it achieved that balance of aesthetics and functionality throughout.

We may be biased, as we particularly love mood board to real life projects, but we think you’ll agree when we say that Kahli Jayne Designs has crafted a complete dream home. Hall Residence is cohesive, and comfortable, with the furniture and décor perfectly complementing the layout, fixtures, and finishes.

The light grey tones of the furniture act as a subtle contrast to the soft white walls and light flooring. Timber elements, like the bathroom cabinetry, dining table, chairs, and entrance buffet, ground the space and connect with the subdued organic tones found within the décor. Texture also takes centre stage, creating another divine dimension through artwork, throws, and rugs. Sheer curtains filter natural light to further soften each area of Hall Residence while still allowing the home to feel bright and inviting, mastering what Scandinavian interior design is all about.
Beyond just the beauty of these pieces, Kahli also strategically selected them to utilise the floor plan of the home for the clients. For example, with the open-plan layout of the living and dining spaces, Kahli opted for a smaller sofa with the addition of a swivel armchair and ottoman. These pieces were chosen so there wouldn’t be any obstruction of the flow between the two areas while also providing ample seating for guests.
Achieving a brief of practical, yet aesthetic, can often prove challenging within some projects, but Kahli Jayne Designs has curated a stunning family home that we’re sure will be loved for years to come.
