Five Kitchens You Loved in 2023
With the year coming to an end, the team here at Style Sourcebook has started looking back at the incredible projects featured here on our Style Edit. Each project had its own unique elements that often left us feeling inspired by interiors, motivated to book beachside getaways, or just in complete awe. And we might be a little biased, as we loved each and every one of our Style Edits. From coastal style homes with idyllic palettes to mid-century modern renovations and contemporary new builds, we couldn’t possibly pick a favourite.
But as we look back, we noticed our community felt completely drawn to the kitchens featured in our Style Edits. It comes as no surprise that the heart of the home was such a popular aspect of the Home Tours. So, in honour of such an exciting year filled with a range of gorgeous projects, we’ve put together five of our most popular kitchens as decided by you. Let’s dive in!

Project Coastal
Welcome back to Project Coastal, an idyllic family home located on the iconic Northern Beaches of Sydney. The project began as a knockdown rebuild with the goal of creating a serene abode influenced by a luxury island resort. Homeowner, Kate, and her husband aimed to bring a sense of calm into their home, so they opted for natural materials, an open design, and a soft palette. Perfectly illustrating this is the open-plan kitchen with its simple, yet stunning characteristics. Tall cathedral ceilings and large windows let in an abundance of fresh air and natural light that reflects off the bright white palette of the space while the timber accents work to balance and ground.
But the star of the show would have to be the gorgeous Taj Mahal Quartzite on the island bench. Its luxurious detailing sets the tone for the entire home, which is only emphasised by its 80mm mitred edge. It’s easy to see why this kitchen is so loved.

Athea House
Athea, the organic modern home of our dreams. We toured Athea with the incredible AM Interior Studio, who took us through the brief which included details such as feminine, light, warm, and luxurious. Like the entirety of the home, Athea’s kitchen features rich textures, subtle curves, organic tones, and modern appliances. It’s the perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality. With curved mosaic tiling, organic crazy pave flooring, a grand island bench with incredible visual interest, and elegant fixtures from ABI Interiors and Momo Handles, this kitchen is one that we will not forget soon.

Villa Cove
From mood board to reality to one of your favourite Style Edit kitchens, it’s Villa Cove, This incredible Balinese villa-inspired home took influences from interior design styles such as modern, coastal luxe and Mediterranean and fused the best parts of each to create this idyllic holiday at home. Ashley (@sage.and.cove), and her husband have extensive experience in the construction and design industry, which is evident given how gorgeous this project is, including the kitchen. We’re not sure what we love most about the space, whether it's the detailed arch, soft curves or even how the layout feels connected to the alfresco in that iconic villa style. If we’re being honest, this kitchen really does tick all the boxes. From the kit kat tiling to the organic pendant lights and bright palette, it’s easy to see why the Villa Cove kitchen is so loved.

Lumière Lakes
Located at the peaceful Lake Conjola sits the sophisticated, light-filled holiday home known as Lumière Lakes. Its unique serenity had us in awe the first time we noticed this refreshing renovation. This home features both an indoor and outdoor kitchen, but our community felt particularly drawn to the internal one that is perfect for hosting friends and family all summer long. The impressive fluted island bench is curved at one end which cohesively flows with the half-arched entryway and rounded rangehood. The palette remains subtle and organic, leaving the textures to do the talking. And just to make the space even better, the kitchen features a gorgeous butler's pantry and an inbuilt window seat.

Casa Blanca
Located on the cusp of a premium golf course in Brookwater, Queensland sits Casa Blanca, a dreamy family home by Casablanca Creative. Exuding modern Mediterranean villa details, the impressive home features sky-high ceilings and voids, handmade tile work, and a perfect neutral colour palette. And there’s a lot to love about Casa Blanca, but of course, the kitchen really is a showstopper. From the curves of the island bench to the light soft timbers and subtle textured splash back tiles, this serene kitchen instantly transports you to a Mediterranean getaway.
