Top Interior Trends Our Team Are Loving Right Now
Whilst a classic interior is ageless and is incorporated in many of our favourite spaces, the addition of a trend can add an element of excitement that can compliment any space when incorporated in the right way. Currently, the team at Style Sourcebook are inspired by a range of beautiful interior trends. Each of these trends take inspiration from the 2022 Autumn months. From 'Brown Is Back', to the inclusion of natural plants and elements throughout the home, there is sure to be an interior trend here to inspire.
1. Brown Is Back
Brown tones make for the perfect colour scheme to create a down-to-earth and grounding space. A neutral, brown palette produces a calm and secure feeling. What we love most about the brown trend is that it is easily transferable to a range of styles and can be incorporated into both a modern or classic home. Not only does brown pair well with light neutrals and black, it also pairs well with other earthy tones such as rust, orange and green. Brown really is such a versatile tone and should definitely be added into your interior this Autumn.
“I am swooning over the current brown trend that's circling. I love its organic feel and how it can be incorporated in so many different and versatile ways. Whether you decide to include walnut cabinetry in your kitchen, a rich chocolate leather sofa in your living room or brown linen cushions in your bedroom, brown is definitely back and here to stay”.

2. All The Curves
Give us all the curves! Whilst the curved trend has been popular for a few years, it seems to be stronger every year, and this year we are loving seeing the curve being used in more creative ways. A curve gives a soft and welcoming feel to a space. It depicts a graceful disposition and simply makes for a stunning architectural feature. The curved trend is particularly inspiring in the form of a curved sofa or furniture, wall, kitchen island bench, stairway and arched doorway or window.
“I love how the curves trend brings back an element of the past through the Art Deco and Mid-Century styles. It works so well as it can be used in a classic, timeless way which is why I look forward to incorporating this trend in my future home”.
- Tayla, Marketing and Community Assistant
3. Bringing The Outdoors In
Bringing the outdoors inside is such an easy way to instil a calming and tranquil feeling to any interior space. By bringing nature into your interior, it creates a safe space that promotes wellness and a sanctuary that can boost your mood. Bringing nature into your home, which is also known as biophilic design, is best expressed by combining and incorporating natural elements such as raw timber, concrete and stone. Plants are increasingly being used in vertical gardens, offices and bedrooms, which makes for an impressive feature in any home. Plants, plants and more plants please!
“This trend is perfect for me as my house is full of plants, I’m a plant mum through and through. I love how it naturally brings in green hues to a space”.
- Sammy, Commercial Director
4. In The Dark
Dark, moody interiors are very much in right now. We are loving how taking your space into the dark side can be done in such a stylish way. You can create a dark interior by painting your walls in a dark tone, along with adding dark elements into your space, such as a piece of moody furniture, cabinetry or statement lighting. Known for making a comforting atmosphere and creating a luxurious yet edgy vibe, we are all for this monochrome and bold trend.
“Not only can the dark trend be used in interior spaces such as bathrooms, it can also be used on your exterior too, to compliment what’s inside. I am a sucker for black painted houses with white trim”.
