From moody martinis to sunlit mornings, this home tells its story through tone and texture. Mood board magic has been sprinkled across Melbourne in this interior design project by Peachwood Interiors, and we’ve loved seeing the designs come to life. Meet the Lelean project, where rich contrasts, sculptural forms, and softened palettes coexist in perfect balance.

We can’t forget Peachwood Interior’s previous Selworthy project that we explored: a New York Loft-inspired home that also came to fruition beautifully through Style Sourcebook mood boards. Now, it's time to open the doors of owner Andriana’s latest project and explore Lelean’s bar room, bedroom, and living area, where dark and light, bold and soft, sculptural and structured elements are thoughtfully layered to create a cohesive yet character-filled interior.

The barroom feels like a cinematic escape. With a dark bouclé sofa that’s tactile, bold, and irresistibly lounge-worthy, it creates a dramatic foundation for the room. Dark timber cabinetry with gold handles wraps the space in richness, while a marble-look coffee table topped with a sculptural gold vase subtly echoes the metallic detailing throughout the room.

With a pale linen chair framed in black and statement gold artwork catching the light, the material pairing feels intentional to create contrast and make the room feel warm, moody, and refined. Enhancing the room’s intimate, lounge-like atmosphere, the bulb pendant chandelier casts a soft glow, and a rust-toned rug injects warmth and earthiness. Behind the bar, a mirrored wall reflects shelving and sleek grey worktops, doubling the mood and amplifying the atmosphere.

“I love that SSB helps translate the inspiration and opportunities I see within a space, into something visual that my clients can connect with and visualise as well. I think the difficulty for a lot of homeowners is that they can’t imagine the possibilities. Once they get access to the mood boards created and all the different options, it allows them to tap into what's possible within their space.”

Transitioning into the living and dining area, the mood softens. With duck-egg coloured cabinetry and light dining chairs, these tones create a breezy backdrop for the oak dining table at the heart of the room. A black-outlined oval mirror echoes curved shapes seen throughout the home while tying back to the darker accents from the bar, and the black and green oval rug adds to the curved motifs, while a pale coffee table keeps the space feeling open and balanced.

The bedroom feels gentle as it pulls through the pale blue tones from the living area in the bedding, where it meets a wave-shaped cream headboard that carries through the curves. Green bedside tables with curved detailing and a flower-like lampshade bring personality, while a cosy window seat layered with sheers and moss-green cushions invites softness and highlights the cohesive theme.
