What Does Sustainability Mean?

Sustainability has become increasingly popular over the years, and even though it’s a trending topic, it will always be relevant. Lately, more and more people are having the conversation around the value of improving their footprint and how they can best make sustainable choices, says Rhiannon from Oleander & Finch Interiors. When we refer to sustainability within the design and construction industry, we talk about homeowners making conscious choices and really stepping into the responsibility of eco-friendly living. It's all about opting for products and pieces that won’t have a negative impact on the environment and communities. 

Sustainability for the Next Generation

Sustainability also promotes the idea that we’re not just creating spaces for ourselves, but for the next generation. Improving our footprint works to make the world a better place but it also encourages choosing quality, timeless products and pieces that will benefit generations to come. For example, choosing products in your home that will last longer, like flooring, will reduce the need for future owners to make complete changes that could further add to waste.
