Boasting quintessential Australian coastal style, Lavana House is the definition of a luxe holiday home. The light-filled residence is one of the three Vela Properties, designed and delivered by The Designory. Inspired by their lush beachside location, each home offers something unique. Sikata, meaning sand, mirrors the warm tones of Australia’s breathtaking landscape, while Samudra, grounds through earthy décor and Mediterranean influences. We’re lucky enough to take a tour of the serene Lavana House, a refreshing coastal accommodation that has us absolutely swooning.

It’s no secret we love a coastal style home here at Style Sourcebook. But Lavana, meaning sea salt, has us mesmerised. Not even the cooler months could stop us from daydreaming about a beach getaway in this inspiring holiday home. The Designory created Lavana to embody the true Byron Bay vibe. Think warm, soft sand, ocean breezes, slow Sunday mornings, and never ending holidays. The design and the interiors not only perfectly achieve this look, but the feeling as well. From the natural light streaming in through strategically placed windows and skylights to the impressive palette of cool whites, sea glass greens, and sandy tones.

The feature of natural stone, blonde timbers, rattan, and soft linens are combined to enhance the refreshing space. The addition of these textures and materials to the already optimised design of the home work seamlessly to create the ideal indoor-outdoor living space. Adding further character to the home is the complementing coastal décor that reminds us how finishing touches, such as vases, books, and wall art can really elevate your interiors.

We couldn’t pick a favourite feature, but the Style Sourcebook team did add a few things to their vision boards, including the corner fireplace. Adding a stylish fireplace is not only a gorgeous touch but incredibly practical for cold Northern New South Wales winters. Turning Lavana into a year-round holiday spot.

Vela Properties were built on one of the last remaining quarter-acre corner sites in central Byron Bay. Their location just 400 meters from the beach and 150 meters from the town's centre, meant that the homes had to flow with the lush beachside surroundings, while still remaining luxurious and unique. Lavana, like its sister residences, was built north facing to flood its four bedrooms, multiple living areas, expansive kitchen, and outdoor area with natural light. Each home also features a private pool and inviting landscape.
