We’re back at Layà Villas, a stunning set of duplexes located in the iconic Palm Beach, Queensland. These unique residences have been created by the talented Comma Projects, who aimed to craft architecturally designed spaces that bring something new and exciting to the coastal suburb.

We first toured Villa A, a light-filled minimalist duplex with organic Mediterranean influences that instantly transport you to a day spa. But now, we’re stepping into its sister residence, Villa B. This sophisticated, warm-toned home features a striking influence of mid-century modern and Art-Deco details which make it oh-so-chic. So, come with us as we dive into the richness of Villa B and explore through the divine details.

Villa B features a contemporary design that emphasises clean lines, organic curves, functionality, and warm neutral tones, all of which work in cohesion to create that sophisticated atmosphere that is felt the second you walk through the door. We’re in awe of the luxury featured in every detail from the bronzed mirrors to the minimalist wall sconces and understated décor.

But if there’s one element that has us completely captivated, it’s the striking contrast found within Villa B. Take the kitchen, for example. The sleek, modern design elements of the space perfectly complement the mid-century modern influences, such as the dark wood joinery and curves. Even the deep brown hues found within the kitchen offer a juxtaposition against the warm whites and sunlight that streams through the neutral sheers.

These interior design aspects work to establish Villa B as soft and inviting, yet bold and elegant. And curating a space, such as this one, to have the right amount of visual interest while also remaining functional is nothing short of art.

Take the swoon-worthy ensuite, for instance. We again see that contrasting play of palette and style, with functionality prioritised in the mix. Due to the layout of the space, the tiles wrap around the shower in a curved design. The palette creates warmth while the organic shape works to open up the bathroom, giving the appearance of a larger area. This feature is complemented by a strategically placed sunlight, situated over the bath, which is also conveniently located in the walk-in shower to maximise the space.

As with all our home tours, we love to highlight a standout feature within the home, which can often prove challenging. For example, we absolutely love everything about Villa B, as we did with Villa A. From the tonal palette filled with rich warmth, to the mid-century modern influences and understated luxury details, it really is a dream home.

But one element we will highlight that we’re yet to touch on is the powder room. This striking space is no exception to the ‘style meets functionality’ attributes discussed earlier, but we’re in complete awe of Comma Projects choice of paint. Featuring brown on the walls and ceiling, this bold choice completely paid off creating an opulent space that is sure to inspire interior design projects for years to come.
