Shadows and Perspective: Take Your Mood Boards To The Next Level

We’re thrilled to introduce our latest product release: Shadows and Perspective. Shadows and perspective will help take your mood boards to the next level by providing depth, interest and a more realistic portrayal of products.

Shadows

Shadows in a mood board help to achieve a more realistic and visually interesting design as it adds depth and a third dimension to the products on the mood board. With our new shadows tool, you can change the position of the shadows, as well as the size, shape and level of blur and opacity, helping guide the depth of products in relation to other products within the mood board. Within our shadows tool are drop shadows and cast shadows options.

Drop Shadows

Drop shadows help to give an impression that the object is raised above the objects behind it, making it perfect for flat lay mood boards as it provides more depth and visual interest in a mood board. Drop shadows also create the illusion that a product is floating in front of the background, which is ideal for differentiating text or a product from a background. Additionally, a drop shadow can also give a product a glowing effect from behind.

Cast Shadows

Cast shadows are the shadows that are formed when light hits from above or from a specific angle. By using this feature, it helps to bring a more realistic view of the products on the board. The cast shadow that is formed is the shadow that is projected onto another surface. In a mood board, cast shadows are most commonly used for furniture pieces.

Perspective

Our perspective tool enhances mood boards by giving a more realistic feel to product placement (especially flooring and rugs). The perspective functionality enables flooring and rugs to appear as though they are flat on the ground instead of flat on a mood board, working with the perspective of a room. It is also functional for wall art within a mood board, to make it look like it’s on an angle on the wall. The perspective tool is perfect for creating more life-like mood boards for clients.
